WHITE LAKE FIRE STATION GETS A NEW HOME
WHITE LAKE, WI – The Village of White Lake, in partnership with MSA Professional Services, Inc., gathered on Friday, July 24, to mark the official start of construction on the community’s new volunteer fire station. The new facility replaces the Village’s former fire station, which suffered a collapsed roof during a large snowstorm event in March of 2019.
The new structure is designed to be approximately 10,000 square feet, over twice the size of the former footprint of approximately 4,600 square feet—a building that was constructed in 1996. The $1.7 million project will be largely funded with the assistance of a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) for Public Facilities. MSA was contracted to help the Village with grant administration for the project and led the Village’s application efforts for the CDBG grant in May, 2019. The Village received notice of the $1 million award in July, 2019.
MSA is also leading the architectural design and engineering of the new fire station as well as water and sewer main extensions to the property. Construction will be conducted by Bayland Buildings, Inc., of Green Bay, and is expected to be completed by the end of 2020.
