HOLYLAND FOOD PANTRY FINDS NEW HOME
HOLYLAND FOOD PANTRY BUILDS NEW FACILITY
NEW HOLSTEIN, WI – The Holyland Food Pantry Board of Directors is pleased to announce that a new 3,500 SQ FT food pantry is being built thanks to an initial grant from the Basic Needs Giving Partnership Fund within the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region supported by the U.S. Venture Fund for Basic Needs and the J.J. Keller Foundation and other community partners, grants, and many generous public donations. The new facility will increase storage space, accommodate bulk commodities, and will be zoned as commercial to access federal and state government food programs for meat, produce, and dry goods.
In 2018 the Holyland Food Pantry board started discussing the idea of building a new facility. The pantry currently serves 40-45 households monthly and it became very evident that the current food pantry had outgrown the needs of the community. The HFP building committee started looking at different buildings and possible sites for building. September 2021 HFP purchased a lot on Kiel Road in Marytown and the dream became a reality, the project was moving forward.
The HFP building committee selected Bayland Buildings from Green Bay as the design/build general contractor for the new facility and anticipates a finish date of November 2022.
