Kiel Couple Building Assisted Living Facility
MANITOWOC, WI - Kiel's Jerry and Karen Vandermause recently broke ground for the construction of Maritime Gardens Assisted Living, 1946 Dewey St., Manitowoc.
The 15,000 square foot community-based residential facility will have 24 suites, each having a private bathroom and shower. Three community rooms and a private garden area with covered porches will highlight the amenities.
The facility will be licensed by the State of Wisconsin and will be classified as a CNA, specializing in caring for the advanced aged, those with Alzheimer's, dementia and the terminally ill.
The Vandermauses will be operating the facility this spring, teaming up with a staff which will include a full-time, on-site registered nurse.
Gathering for the recent groundbreaking for Maritime Gardens Assisted Living were Brent Jensen, senior vice president/business lender, Community First Credit Union; Chris Cumicek, business development loan officer, Great Lakes Asset Corporation; David Phillips, sales representative, Bayland Buildings, Inc.; Karen Szyman, executive director, Manitowoc County Chamber of Commerce; Justin Nickels, mayor of Manitowoc; Karen Vandermause, co-owner of Maritime Gardens; Jerry Vandermause, co-owner of Maritime Gardens and building operator; John Lindberg, marketing, Bayland Buildings, Inc.; Mark Neubauer, project manager, Bayland Buildings, Inc.; and Brevinn Vandermause, grandson of Jerry and Karen.
